Western Sydney structures repeat. A typical job is a basement or two in clay, a large ground slab, then five to eight suspended levels with the same blade walls, columns and lift core on every floor. That repetition is what a formwork estimator prices for: the bearers, joists and props for one level are re-used for the next, and the rate per square metre falls as the cycle settles. The current Blacktown package runs exactly that way, one deck per cycle, stripped on cylinder results and re-erected a level up.
The ground conditions in the west change the footings, not the formwork above them. Pad footings and pier caps are edge-boarded on blinding, set-out is checked against the survey before anything is boxed, and the propping design is followed to the prop. Where a site has a boundary wall on the street, the formwork crew coordinates with our own scaffolders so the edge protection goes up with the first deck rather than after it.
Parramatta and Blacktown council conditions often restrict crane time and deliveries on street-front sites. Formwork stock is delivered to suit the windows, laid down where the propping plan allows, and the deck is built inside them. Because reinforcement and the pour are the same company, the deck is inspection-ready the day it is propped and the pour is booked against the inspection.
How formwork is priced in Western Sydney
Formwork in the west is priced per square metre of contact area by element: suspended slab soffit, beam sides, wall and column faces, stair soffits. On a repeating apartment floor the rate settles after the second cycle, and the quotation shows the typical-floor rate beside the transfer-level rate so the estimator can see where the money is.

Do you price formwork for townhouses as well as apartment buildings?
Yes. Townhouse and duplex slabs, footings and retaining walls are priced per element like any other structure. Small jobs are often better as a lump sum, which the quotation shows.
Can you form the basement and the tower with the same crew?
That is the normal sequence. Footings, basement slab and retaining walls are formed first, then the crew moves to the suspended decks with the same set-out and the same supervision.
