Formwork contractors Sydney
We set out, erect, certify and strip formwork for multi-level residential and commercial structures across Sydney. Conventional timber and ply, aluminium and modular systems, or a mix that suits the program and the finish the drawings call for.

What the formwork package covers
Suspended slabs
Decks on aluminium or timber bearers and joists, props laid out to the propping design, back-propping carried through as the structure rises.
Walls, columns and cores
Gang forms, modular panels and conventional boxing for blade walls, columns, lift shafts and stair cores, with ties and bracing certified before the pour.
Beams, band beams and edges
Edge shutters, step-downs, set-downs and upstands formed square and to line, so the following trades get the dimensions on the drawings.
Stairs and landings
In-situ stairs boxed to the going and riser on the architectural set, with stringer forms checked against the structural detail.
Footings and ground works
Edge boards and pad forms to footings, strip footings and pier caps, with blinding levelled and set-out verified against the survey.
Propping and back-propping
Props and back-props held to the engineer's sequence and removed when the cylinder results say so.
What you get
- Propping certified before every pour
- Formed surfaces to the AS 3610 finish class on the drawings, ready for the following trades
- Safe strip on strength, never on the calendar
Delivered to
Because the same company runs the steel fixing and the pour, the deck is inspection-ready the day it is propped. See how that ran on the Blacktown package.
How the formwork package runs with your program
Formwork sets the cycle. Deck area per pour, storey height and the prop count in the propping design decide the crew size, and the crew is built to hold the cycle the program calls for rather than to a fixed headcount. Set-out is checked against the survey before the first bearer goes down, and propping is certified before every pour.
Because the reinforcement and the pour are self-performed, the deck is handed to our own steel fixers the day it is propped and the truck is booked against the engineer's inspection. Strip follows the cylinder results, back-propping follows the engineer's sequence, and the next level starts on the head contractor's date.
What we need to price formwork
- For-construction structural drawings, including slab, wall and core details
- Architectural set for finishes, set-downs and stair geometry
- Propping design and the concrete strength criteria for stripping
- Program dates for each level and the pour cycle you need
- Site access, crane time and laydown available to the structure
Questions builders ask
What formwork systems do you use?
Conventional timber and plywood, aluminium bearer and joist decks, and modular panel systems for walls and columns. We choose per job, based on the structure, the finish required, and the pour sequence your program needs.
Do you supply the formwork materials?
Yes. Supply, erection, certification and strip are quoted as one package. If you already hold stock or a system on site we can price labour-only.
When do you strip?
On strength results from the concrete testing, in the sequence the engineer sets. Back-propping stays in place as the design requires.
What moves the formwork rate?
Storey height, deck area per pour, the finish class, and how much the layout repeats floor to floor. Send the set and the quote shows the rate per square metre against each element.
Can you work from a partial set of drawings?
We can give an indicative rate from the architectural set, but a firm price needs the for-construction structural drawings and the propping design.
Formwork by area and by structure
Formwork in Western Sydney
Formwork in South West Sydney
Apartment buildings
Residential flat buildings of three to eight storeys over basement are the core of the work.
Post-tensioned slabs
PT slabs let apartment and commercial floors span further with less depth.
Basement and car park slabs
The basement is the slowest part of a structure to get right and the fastest to get wrong.
