How the structure is built and priced
Large-area pours
Industrial slabs are placed in planned pours with joints, falls to drains and set-downs marked before the first truck. Mesh and bar are chaired to the cover, the pour is screeded to level and the finish is closed to the specified class, burnished where the drawings call for it. Curing follows the finish rather than the clock.
Footings and columns
Pad footings and pier caps are formed on blinding and poured against the inspected cage. Columns are formed in lifts the form can take and poured dense with no honeycombing, with starter bars left correct for the structure above.
Mixed-use ground floors
A commercial ground floor under apartments carries a transfer slab with a different column grid to the floors above. That level is measured as its own element because it carries more propping and heavier reinforcement than the typical floors.
What changes the price
Area per pour, the finish class, the joint layout, and truck and pump access. A slab poured in fewer, larger pours is cheaper per square metre than the same slab in many small ones, and the quotation shows the pour plan the rate assumes.

Do you saw-cut the joints?
Joint layout is set out and formed as the drawings require. Saw cutting is included or excluded on the quotation, so there are no surprises.
