Conventional slabs
Bottom and top steel, bar chairs and spacers to the specified cover, laps and trimmer bars placed to the engineer's schedule.
Post-tensioned slabs
Support steel, anti-burst and edge reinforcement placed around the tendon profiles, coordinated with the stressing contractor.
Footings, pads and piles
Cages, starter bars and pad footing reinforcement tied on blinding, with cover checked before the inspection is called.
Walls, columns and cores
Vertical cages and ligatures to the structural detail, with starter bars left correct for the lift above.
Mesh
SL and RL mesh placed, lapped and chaired to the detail, priced by the sheet.
Inspection and certification
Steel left inspection-ready with the engineer's checklist in hand, so the pour is never held up waiting on a fix.

Our steel fixers work off the same set-out as the formwork crew, and the pour is booked the day the inspection is called. The Blacktown package runs that way floor by floor.
How the steel fixing package runs with your program
Reinforcement is placed to the engineer's schedule and left inspection-ready before the inspection is called: cover checked against the detail, laps and trimmer bars in, starter bars correct for the lift above. The aim is a first-time pass, because a failed inspection costs a pour date.
On post-tensioned slabs the support steel, anti-burst and edge reinforcement are placed around the tendon profile and sequenced with the stressing contractor. On conventional slabs the crew follows our own formwork floor by floor, so the cage is tied while the next deck is still being propped.

Questions builders ask
Do you price by the tonne or by the day?
Both, depending on the scope. Detailed reinforced slabs are usually priced per tonne; footings and small pours are often better as day labour. We put both options on the quote where it helps.
Do you work on post-tensioned slabs?
Yes. We place the support steel, anti-burst and edge reinforcement around the PT profile and coordinate with the stressing contractor on sequence.
Is reinforcement supply included?
We can quote supply and fix, or fix only using steel scheduled and delivered by the builder. Tell us which you prefer and we quote accordingly.
Who certifies the steel before the pour?
Your engineer inspects. Our job is to have the steel tied, covered and inspection-ready when they arrive, so the inspection passes first time.
